Set Yourself Up for Success

Success /səkˈses/noun

As defined by Oxford Languages is 1.the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.

The measure of success is personal and varies from person to person. Personal success is defined by who you are, what you value, and what you choose to accomplish. I may view success as having one million dollars and you might view success as having one million fond memories. No matter your view of success, it cannot be achieved without having a goal.

When setting goals, you must:

Have clarity

Have a clear view and understanding of what would give you your most fulfilled life. Additionally, have an idea of what you don’t want in your life and avoid it at all costs. If you desire positive exchanges and prosperity, then you should avoid activities and people that drain you of your energy. Put yourself in the presence of those who are searing for the same out of life and actively seeking it.

Prioritize

Rate your goals on a scale of most important to least important and focus on the top five. The top five should be the goals that will get you the closest to your overall goal in the least amount of time. They should have the most direct course of action and involve the least amount of people. These top five should be actions that you can take relying the least on the assistance of others. These top five should be within your control.

Visualize

Imagine yourself actively living the life you want and the steps you took to get there. Identify the steps you can take within the next 30 days to get closer to that desired life and do it. Be proactive and take charge of your life. Have the courage to make the changes that will improve your life.

Stay Motivated

Assess your level of commitment to this goal and be honest. You may need to adjust this goal during the process, and that’s alright. Make the necessary changes that will keep you excited about the life you could be living. Staying motivated takes discipline and inspiration, be confident in your ability to stay the course.
